Ibiza, or Eivissa in Spanish, is the most famous party island in the world. Every summer, millions of tourists come over for the ultimate combination of sun, beach and dance music.
The island is the home of the most famous party brands and every summer all the top DJ's in the world play their sets in the biggest venues you can imagine.
Nightlife only starts after (very late) dinner time, so be sure you won't find any crowded bar before 1 am. By that time, the two main gay areas in Ibiza Town will be crawled with a mix of muscle mary's, trendy guys and fashion queens. The main gay drags area Calle de La Virgen, down by the harbour and the terraces of Calle Alfonso XII, next to the main entrance of Dalt Villa.

Platja des Cavallet / Playa de es Cavallet
The main gay beach is Platja Des Cavallet, at the southern tip of the island. This is a strip of sand which is most popular with the gays. The beach has no rocks, nudity is allowed, has a big gay beach club (Chiringay) with pumping dance music all day long and of course a large cruising area in the dunes behind the club. Cavallet can be reached by bus, but it is recommended to take a (hired) car or scooter or a taxi. From the parking lot you need to walk along the straight beach for 15 minutes to the southern tip. You can also take the speed boat from the Figueretas beach.

Other gay beaches include Playa Salinas west of Cavallet or Los Molinos, a pebble beach just down under Dalt Villa.

Ibiza has a vivid gay life. Best time to visit the island is during summers, while the party season is on from May till October, with the highlight in August. Ibiza Town, with its harbour area (Virgen), Dalt Villa (the Old Town) and Figueretas is the centre of all gay activity and features dozens of gay bars, restaurants and clubs, making gay life very visible. Every night in summer and major gay or gay friendly party is hosted at one of the main clubs, attracting thousands of gay clubbers each night. Add up the sun, clear blue seas and crisp white gay beaches and you're sure you have ended up in gay heaven.

The place where you have to stay on Ibiza island is Ibiza Town. Here you find all shops, restaurants and bars. The big parties are mostly located on remote locations, you have to get there by taxi, rent car or motorbike.
