The Amsterdam gay scene is lively and vivid. The gay street has developed into a great pedestrian area with many gay bars, restaurants and terraces.

Gay bars and cafes
There are relatively many gay bars in Amsterdam. All places are located in the city center and are on walking distance from each other.
The main gay street is Reguliersdwarsstraat. In this pedestrian only area you you find the mainstream bars with terraces, open all year round. The main bars are Taboo, Soho and Bar Blend.
Bar Prik is located behind Dam square, and is a popular hangout from early evening for locals and tourists, both gays and lesbians.
Near Rembrandt square the more gay party bars can be found.
Most places are open all week, but most of them only get real busy in weekends.
